Acoustic Insights and Resilience Ltd (AIR) provides expert guidance in environmental and occupational acoustics. With 35 years of experience, we specialise provision of high quality noise and vibration assessment across many industry sectors. These include underwater noise assessment and Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA).
Mike Fraser set up AIR to fulfil two roles, firstly to provide acoustic insights including expert witness services and robust assessments for large and small projects. The second role is to provide resilience supporting environmental and planning consultancies when additional experienced resources were required due to changes in workload or staffing.

Experience
Mike Fraser director and founder has over 35 years of experience working at senior levels within global environmental consultancies as a subject matter expert in noise and vibration. Mike is fully qualified acoustician who holds both and degree in acoustics and membership of the Institute of Acoustics.
Mike has been proud to provide expert acoustic insights for major projects across a wide range of industries both in the UK and internationally. He worked extensively on the EIA HS2 in a lead role coordinating and defining construction noise assessment procedures and worked on the recent Gatwick Airport DCO. He has provided expert witness at high profile public inquiries and oral hearings in the UK and Ireland and has helped global organisations write and review policy.
He has carried out various renewable energy project assessments including on and offshore wind farms, hydro-electric projects, land based and floating solar farms and pioneering hydrogen projects. He can offer detailed underwater noise assessment advice as well as the more conventional airborne noise effects on humans.
Since founding the company in 2024 he has supported projects working both as part of a consultancy teams and directly for industrial clients.
