Noise and Vibration support has has been provided for industry, hydrogen production and storage, mining, general development, data centres, railways, roads and airports. Our expertise also covers renewable energy projects, and has included larger Development Consent Order (DCO) projects to smaller scale wind and solar farms, battery energy storage and substation facilities. Noise advice on air source heat pump installations can also be provided.

Examples include a recent solar project where it was possible to negotiate suitable planning conditions with the local authority to avoid time and expense of giving evidence at an inquiry. Following our support for a recent wind farm noise assessment in Scotland, AIR responded to a large volume of representations regarding noise. These were managed so that it was possible to demonstrate that the EIA noise assessment was robust.
Underwater Noise

Mike has advised on numerous underwater assessments over the years including seismic surveys, ports and harbours, pipe laying and construction of offshore wind farms. This included the Baltyk wind farm off the coast of Poland where noise management and mitigation in the form of bubble curtains were modelled to ensure that significant impacts were avoided during installation of monopiles.
